Transfusion Medicine

PBVS maintains an on-site blood bank/storage facility for banked blood and blood products. In addition, we have a small reservoir of locally owned pets available on an emergency basis whenever there is need for fresh whole blood. We are able to crossmatch your pet’s blood to ensure that it receives the most appropriate product in a timely and safer manner. Blood products are somewhat “precious” and can only be maintained in a facility with the proper equipment.

We also have a program for owners to donate their pet’s blood. Not only will you be doing a service to our pet loving community but the program comes with benefits for you and your pet.
