A Letter From Dr. Roy...

Dear Doctor,

I am pleased to welcome two new doctors to the staff Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists. The first is Cory Brown, DVM, DACVIM. Dr. Brown is a board certified internist who recently left the chilly winter temperatures of Ohio for the sun of south Florida. Dr. Brown is an experienced clinician who matriculated with his veterinary degree from Oklahoma State University and completed an internship at Auburn University. He was accepted for further training at Purdue University where he completed an internal medicine residency. Since completing his residency, Dr. Brown gained Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and has worked the past six years at Med-Vet in Columbus, Ohio, a busy private specialty practice that provides specialty services 24/7. While there, Dr. Brown developed broad based, practical experience handling internal medicine patients with chronic and emergent care needs. Dr. Brown’s professional interests include Gastroenterology, Endocrinology and Immune Mediated Disease. He is also adept at Endoscopy and Ultrasonography. Some of you have already met Dr. Brown and have experienced his dry sense of humor. However, his work in a busy referral practice has helped him develop practical acumen and sound knowledge for optimal patient management as well as a true understanding of the referral relationship. I believe that Dr. Brown’s background will make him an incomparable addition to our community of specialists and I am pleased that he is joining our team.

I also welcome Dr. Rebecca Lin to our hospital and community. She has recently completed a surgical residency at the prestigious Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania. After receiving her veterinary degree from Cornell University, she completed a rotating internship at the University of Pennsylvania and surgical internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston, Texas. Dr. Lin then returned to the University of Pennsylvania where she completed her residency in Small Animal Surgery. Dr. Lin’s professional interests include Laparoscopy, Thoracoscopy and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Lin has a tremendous academic record. I am sure you will find her very skilled, knowledgeable and compassionate when working with your clients and managing their pets. In addition, her ability to perform Minimally Invasive Surgical Techniques will further expand a service that we have provided in the past. I’m sure you will find Dr. Lin’s skill and engaging personality a true asset to our hospital and we are proud to have her as part of our professional community.

The addition of Drs. Brown and Lin to our Medicine and Surgery Departments will now allow the four of us (Drs. Ishak, Brown, Lin and I) to provide regular office appointments and routine Internal Medicine and Surgery services on Saturdays. This will allow your clients the opportunity to enjoy convenient hours and avoid the typical emergency fees associated with Saturday case management.

In closing, I’d like to thank all of you for your longstanding support of our hospital and our specialists. You have always shown your confidence in us by referring your best clients. I’m positive that you will find both Dr. Brown and Dr. Lin equally worthy of that trust and we appreciate your continued support.

Professionally,

Robert G. Roy, DVM, MS, P.A.
Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons
