September 28, 2009 Dr. Tim Cutler of PBVS Assists in Rare Cataract Surgery for an Endangered Gorilla at Miami Metrozoo. Josephine, a 42 year old female lowland gorilla will have surgery performed on each eye to remove severe cataracts and implant new lenses at Miami Metrozoo. This state-of-the-art procedure has been done many times on humans but less than a dozen times on gorillas. Read more...
